absolutely a matter of tastes that certain stuff in this feels off to me - the autotune feels a little wonky in places
but I really like that backing track!

SettaXy responds:

Thanks. I'm still learning how to use auto tune. Eventually I'll have it mastered.

Amen break, always tasty

You know old YTPs? Where they'd chop and screw audio sources for jokes, and then some folks would do it to set weird sources to music?
That's a vibe I've been chasing after for new songs for ages now. This scratches that itch.

I have bad news: We shouldn't hate this, because unironically this is fun to listen to.

Stumbled back into checking out newgrounds, one of the quieter corners of the internet nowadays, and maybe it's cuz I'm getting nostalgia for this place from nearly two decades ago, but I cried a little at this song.

LordAndiso responds:

Oh my, I am very happy that the song touched your soul.. I do hope those were good type of tears :)

I came back to this, deleted my old review so I could leave a new one.

I don't know if you've moved on in the sixteen years its been, to never return. I don't know if you've died. I don't know if you'll even see this.

But I actually almost cried just now. Way back when I was still in high school, some of this music was stuff I saved to my ipod. Remember ipods? Gosh. This was a silly little song, but at the same time it's got that melancholic tone, and the music theory dweeb I was in high school meant that the harmonies, basic as they are, itched a good little scratch for that.

Today, on some fleeting ADHD thought, I remembered 'hey, wasn't there that music and animation guy from way back when, Edible Castle?' searched and found the music... ANd realized I'd remembered every note of the songs I'd saved.

I hope, wherever you are, you're happy, and that you don't look back on this silly stuff with too much negativity. As nonsensical as some of this stuff was, making it touched people's lives. Or at least, it touched mine.

So gentle, just like the Song Of Healing should be.

What a great track to come back to Newgrounds to. A decade later and this place is still runnin' great remixes.

It's pretty simple, not too rich, which is perfectly wonderful.

BallinFatty responds:

Great to hear that. I haven't been active on the site in almost 4 years, so it's nice to see a 9 on one of my comeback tracks. I really appreciate that. Glad you enjoyed it

Thanks for the review and your time listening

Good and bad parts to this.

At the beginning of this piece, the flute slurred and staccato'd quite... grossly. You fixed it in the middle, but the beginning was horrid.

There's something you didn't do...

And perhaps you can do now.
You say this is orchestral.
I notice something that sounds like an anvil, perhaps... what all instruments are included in this?
This is an amazing mix of the song, and in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if they used a loop version of this in any HD remake of the game they might make.

... and to think I was trying to find Kefka's theme when I found this.

You're... You're joking, right?

This is really good! You're good at this!

Mid-Night responds:

Thanks

Can you believe Tumblr was so bad I logged back into my Newgrounds Account
